The news release said the drug contains 20 mg of Prilosec and has been available since the FDA approved it last year, and the company was confident it could be a high-quality drug for patients who have a variety of diseases.
"We're proud to be able to provide Prilosec to patients," said Sidney Wolfe, President of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association, which represents AstraZeneca. "Prilosec is a critical breakthrough in the treatment of cancer."
Erythromycin, an antibiotic that is commonly used in the treatment of bacterial infections, also contains a "high-quality" drug.
The news release said Prilosec, which comes in tablet form, has been available since the FDA approved it last year, and the company was confident it could be a high-quality drug for patients who have a variety of diseases.
Erythromycin, which is sold under the brand name Eryb, was the top selling medication for Prilosec last year, according to the company.
